The University of Florida is home to the Alpha-1 DNA and Tissue Bank. Lung tissue samples can be collected during transplantation and transferred to UF for preservation. Researchers with a study proposal relevant to the Alpha-1 community may request tissue samples to conduct their research. Those
needing information on how to obtain samples of DNA and tissue

252. Requests will be reviewed and approved by the Alpha-1 Foundation's Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee.
